 Overview

Deema has a broad insurance litigation practice with a focus on bodily injury defence, commercial general liability claims, product liability, occupiers’ liability, professional negligence, municipal liability, construction litigation and coverage disputes. She is a pragmatic and effective advocate for her clients, and she takes pride in providing creative and considered litigation strategies to ensure the best results for them

Deema has represented clients at various courts and tribunals including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court, Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal.

In law school, Deema was the President of the Gender and the Law Association and the recipient of the Diana Majury-Cheryl Waldrum Award in recognition of her significant contribution to the subject of gender studies and discrimination. She also worked with Pro-Bono Students Canada to provide a presentation to the London Coordinating Committee to End Women’s Abuse (LCCEWA) in her final year of law school.
