Since the implementation of our business continuity plan in March, everyone at our firm has been working remotely. As a listed essential workplace, we continue to have access to our offices, but there are surprisingly few occasions when our lawyers need access to our physical premises in order to complete their work for our clients. We have adapted well to virtual platforms to stay connected with each other, with our clients and to both complete transactions, and to advance our litigation matters. All of these steps have allowed us to focus on the health and safety of our colleagues and of our community.
We can be proud that we have adapted but we definitely miss being together at our offices. We have been very encouraged by the recent announcements at the various levels of government that we can start to look forward to the lifting of restrictions. The Executive Committee eagerly created a “Back to the Workplace” Committee and we are developing plans to bring our people back to our offices. We will take our cue from the health authorities in determining the timing of our return. We are preparing our plans so that we are ready to return with the required safety measures and processes in place.
Whether we are working from home or working from the office, we are here to take care of our clients’ needs. Please do not hesitate to contact your lawyer at Blaneys if you require our assistance. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions.
We wish everyone good health and we thank all of you for everything that you have done to help our community move towards brighter days.
