Filomena provides strategic advice to owners and operators of businesses, including numerous national and international corporations and organizations. She also advises individuals, including a growing number of female entrepreneurs contemplating new business ventures. She assists clients in establishing new corporations, partnerships, and joint ventures.
Filomena’s developing corporate and commercial law practice is focused on general corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and business development, as well as media and entertainment. Her practice often incorporates intellectual property related matters.
Filomena frequently assists clients with negotiating, drafting, or reviewing Share/Asset Purchase and Sales Agreements, Shareholders’ Agreements, Partnership Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, conducting due diligence, and estate planning matters, including corporate succession planning.
In addition to her work with Canadian residents and organizations, Filomena counsels and represents a growing number of American companies with respect to the various relevant laws and business considerations they need to be aware of to establish and grow their Canadian business operations.
Filomena is known for giving each of her clients personal attention and ensuring that matters are handled diligently and efficiently from start to finish. She brings strong attention to detail, communication, and creative problem-solving skills to assist clients with various needs, from both a legal and practice perspective.
During law school, Filomena participated in student governance by serving on the Executive Committee of the University of Toronto’s Student Law Society as the Communications Director. She was also a member of the Law Cancer Society, the Business Law Society, and the Greek Student Association.
